This photograph looks like a doll-sized backyard with a
pool, pool house, chairs and tables, a couple trees, and flowers. The photo
looks fake because the focus of the image is a little off and it focuses more
on the pool to take the focus away from the small details like the trees and
chairs. The photographer took this photo from about three or so feet away. The
sun or light was present while this photo was taken and it came from the left
top corner, and I know this because of the angle of the shadows. The
cylinder-like, aqua blue pool cover and the ladder to get out of the blue area
tells me that this subject is a pool. The photo looks like it was taken on a
school desk, but was intended to look like sand since the background has the
same color as each. I really like that the pool is in the center of the photo
because it draws the attention right away, and I also like that its almost the
only subject within the photo that actually has a good amount of color. Another
thing that attracts my eyes to this photo is the fact that the pool is off
center and tilted just a little. I don’t really know why, but it makes the
picture look even more attractive. All objects in the photo are in the middle
and it leaves a lot of space on the outside, and I don’t like this because it
makes everything look very clustery and clumped. The contrast of this photo is
low. There are many gray tones throughout the shadows, pool ladder, and other
small subjects. The black tones are rare in this photo, for I don’t see any
pure black. The pure white is shown through the pool edge, the table, a pool
tube, and a small disk in the pool. This photo makes me think of summer and my
old house in Minnesota. It reminds me of my old house because we had a pool
that looked just like this with a pool house at the same location as this one,
just bigger. The trees on the bottom remind me of Minnesotan trees, but the
palm trees remind me of Florida.
